Before entering into the film industry Namitha did a few ads for some companies such as Himami cream, Nile herbal shampoo, Manikchand gutka and Arun ice cream, etc. After working in lots of television commercials, the next logical step for Namitha was trying to get a foothold in Bollywood, and for becoming an actress she stayed in Mumbai for a long time. However, luck was not with Namitha, so she had to decide to return to Surat. She made her acting debut in the Telugu film Sontham. Subsequent to that, she starred in the Tamil film "Yei" which featured the song "Arjuna Arjuna". She has acted in a number of Tamil, Kannada, Telugu films. She has been also acted in one and only Bollywood movie "Love ke Chakkar mein" and an English movie named "Maya". Her first box office hit came in the form of Tamil film "Engal Anna" and since then things have been pretty good for her.
