Here we are with my third Hub about the women of Indian cinema.
Like the two before it, this Hub has some actresses you may know, and some you may not be so familiar with.
And like the other two, this one not only has Bollywood actresses, but actresses from Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada films as well.

Carol Gracias
Carol Gracias
Carol Gracias
You probably wouldn't associate a name like Carol Gracias with Indian cinema, but she was born on December 28th, 1978 in Mumbai, India.
Carol has only appeared in two films so far, and she was on Bigg Boss, the Indian version of Celebrity Big Brother, in season one, where she came in first runner up.
But Carol is really famous for an "accident" that makes Janet Jackson's Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show controversy look tame in comparison.
At the 2006 Lakme India Fashion Week in Mumbai, Carol was going down the catwalk when her halter top slipped off, and since she wasn't wearing a bra.....
Well you get the point.
The incident ignited a firestorm with some of the public accusing the organizers of doing it on purpose.
The matter went before the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, and members condemned the organizers of the show.
Then Prakash Rajdev, a social activist, lodged a complaint against the organizers of the Lakme India Fashion Week and all the models involved that prompted a a local court to order police to investigate the incident.

Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone is another actress that I have done several entries on.
She was born on January 5, 1986, not in India, but in Copenhagen, Denmark, though her family moved to India when she was less than a year old.
While Deepika was in high school, she played badminton at the state level which is only fitting considering her father Prakash Padukone was the the first Indian to win the All England Open Badminton Championship in 1980.
Deciding not to become a pro badminton player, Deeplka went into modeling, then acting.
She made her acting debut in the 2006 Kannada movie Aishwarya (not aboutAishwarya Rai, it was actually based on the American film Memento).
Deepika went on to appear in twelve films and has been nominated for a lot of awards.
